A bucket list book

If there were a bucket list of books or topics one must study before he dies--reading up on Coac-Cola--the world's most popular drink--should be one of them.
Whether one condones Coke or not there is lots here--1. About how flavors work together (look at the recipe for Coke). 2. About how a business starts-flimsy stuff is the start of most businesses--and it was with Coke--even crazy stuff. 3. About how a business establishes itself and becomes BIG. 4. About how a business survives and thrives once it is established and Big and has worthy competition or do-gooders trying to slander it and gov'ts trying to tax it.
I read this book about 3 months ago and I think of it everyday--for reasons including the above 4. I have become a bit of an officionado on Coke--now I search out Mexican or Passover Coke with "real sugar" or Coke that is freshest--to see if there really is a taste difference.
Who knows how long this renewed infatuation/fascination will last? I do know I keep giving this book out as a gift to friends--one a chef with the BBC, the other a CEO of a national company--and to others--it is a ubiquitous gift that appeals to an ubiquitous audience--bc we all live in the Coca Cola world in some way--like it or not. Might as well know about it in detail since it is a part of everyone's life.

Great insight to the most devine beverage in the world :-()

Coca-Cola is my 'poison' of choice. I love it so much and it's about all I drink; therefore I have always wanted to know all the details behind the company and the beginning of the beverage itself etc. This book is the best out there for all that you want to know about Coke.
It's very comprehensive (smallish print and over 450 pages (not including the notes and appendixes at the end). From information about the inventor John Pemberton to the marketing of this great soft drink, this is an excellent book to get some understanding into the Coke company and the drink itself. Just be warned; it's a long and hard going read, but if you are truly interested in it, it flows well and you'll get through it easily.

Where everyone flies Delta, shops at Rich's & drinks Coca-Cola ! period
I liked the way we were given all the background, which showed how many different directions the company could have gone if had not been for this person or that situation.
I would recommend this work to anyone who's new to Atlanta (especially);
- and to all that were born & raised there. (What a wonderful experience that must have been for you).
